We are pleased to announce the purchase of a Cooling Edge Fully Automatic data base driven Air Conditioning station.

Air conditioning used to be one of the service technologies that didn’t change much from year to year. The negative effects of R-12 on the ozone layer, the resulting transition to R-134a, and the regulations related to the recovery and recycling of refrigerant changed all that. Now with the release of the All New Range Rover and subsequent New Range Rover Sport we’re on the brink of another transition— the switch to HFO-1234yf. This new refrigerant, destined to bring a cascade of changes to the A/C service landscape.

To ensure we continue to be ahead of the game Les Potts 4 Wheel Drive have purchased a fully Automatic R1234YF Service Station, This compliments our existing R134a charging station. We have 3 Technicians that are fully trained to City and Guilds Level 3 so we are more than happy to carry out any Land Rover A/C repairs that you may require.

Les Potts 4 Wheel Drive offers a complete air conditioning testing and recharging service. A recovery and recharge can be carried out within one hour during which time you can take a seat in the warm surroundings of our customer waiting area.

Some of the less known facts are:-

• An estimated 10% of A/C refrigerant will leak from the system every year.
• System recovery and recharge removes the moisture in the system which would eventually turn the refrigerant acidic which causes damage to the full system
• A correctly charged system will provide more miles per gallon than an overcharged or undercharged system
• A system that has a fault must be rectified as soon as possible as if the refrigerant has leaked from the A/C system moisture will have entered causing possible damage to all components in the A/C system.
• We recommend that Land Rover climate control systems have A/C switched on all year round.
